Water Abstractions

The Canon 100mm f/2.8L IS USM is a superlative macro lens as well as an impressive short telephoto.  The image stabilization on it is nothing short of flawless.

Here are three images I made with it as my swimming pool was refilling with water. These are the finished images, after post-capture processing in Lightroom 4.  They were all shot with a Canon 40D.

Crescent Shadow
1/15 sec., f/16, ISO 100, hand-held

Maybe the image is better rotated this way ...

Or perhaps this way ...

Self Portrait
1/80 sec., f/11, ISO 100, hand-held

Water and Wall
1/250 sec., f/11, ISO 100, hand-held
